Product Description: ShoutOUT is the first voice-to-text SMS application for iPhone. Built on Promptu Systems Corporation's powerful speech recognition technology, ShoutOUT lets users dictate messages in natural language, quickly check their text message and send the SMS to their intended recipients. Promptu creates multimodal talk-and-type mobile phone applications for consumers, carriers, handset providers and travel and transportation companies. ShoutOUT will soon be available in Europe through a major wireless carrier.
Market Opportunity: Text messaging has exploded in the consumer marketplace. According to Gartner, 2.3 trillion text messages will be sent by next year. With at least five states implementing hands-free laws -- making it illegal to text while driving -- the need for voice recognition for SMS becomes paramount.
DEMO Says: Ironically, voice is the overlooked interface to mobile phone applications. Promptu brings deep experience in voice UI and voice recognition to arguably the most used mobile phone application: text messaging. We think the ShoutOUT voice-to-text-messaging service could spur even greater use of SMS messaging, particularly among older demographics.
